Ali'i Kai II 12D, Bali Hai Mountain Views

The unit was in decent shape, but we discovered several things that were dirty - such as dirty dishes that were placed in the cupboards. There were visible dust bunnies on the floor in the living room when we arrived, and there was a reddish brown substance that looked like dried blood on the living room curtains as well as the guest bathroom door and wall.
The tall cylinder tower fan was filthy and left dust bunnies everywhere when used or moved.
The cross winds do not push through the unit as was advertised, so the entire stay was uncomfortably warm, with the provided fans not able to move enough air.
Overall the unit was fine but could benefit from better attention to detail on cleaning as well as improved fans to keep guests comfortable. We will not return to this unit.

This is a beautiful place on one of the most spectacular spots on the island. It is convenient to shopping, hiking and swimming, both in the pool on the premises and the beaches nearby. The condo is very well equipped and comfortable. I would highly recommend it!

The condo was perfect. Clean, comfortable, well stocked with everything we needed. We really appreciated the beach chairs, umbrella, towels and coolers too. There is even a filtered water dispenser in the swimming pool area with really nice water. Location was great, short walk to the cliffs overlooking the ocean, and the view from the patio of the mountains were so nice to wake up to and enjoy at sunset. Very quiet inside the condo. There were people above us but we never heard them walking around. Just a lovely experience. Thank you so much!

We loved our stay here, and would definitely stay again. The kitchen was fully stocked with lots of pots/pans, utensils, dinnerware, and spices. The lanai is peaceful to sit at all hours of the day with the view overlooking the ocean, gardens, valley, and sunset. The chickens, roosters, and nene's keep you company when you are on the lanai but appear to have been fed in the past. I would recommend not eating on the lanai if the animals are neaby, the nene bit me as he wanted my food and I would not give him any. We used the beach towels and chairs. There are also coolers and umbrellas available to use. Kanani and Sarah, co-host, are very responsive. The neighborhood is quiet and safe with walking trails nearby. Grocery store and food options nearby. Washing machine in unit. No air conditioner but the place had ceiling fans and portable fans which worked well. There is a nearby pool with hot tub. We would definitely look at renting this spot again!

This unit (Ali'i Kai II, 12D) is in a quiet, end of the road location in Princeville. It is a very short drive to Hanalei, Anini Beach, and Kilauea. The condo itself is situated in such a way that you have a perfectly stunning view of the sunset from your lanai every evening. It had a well stocked kitchen with plenty of place settings, silverware, and cooking utensils, including a spice rack. Also appreciated the large Tommy Bahama umbrella, beach chairs, and a family-sized cooler to take our lunches to the beach. The kids loved being located close to the pool for late night swims after being at the beach all day.

We really enjoyed this condo. It had all the amenities we needed to relax and make meals. Beds were comfortable and the additional items (e.g. cooler) made the stay even more convenient. We were minutes from the grocery store and great dining options and close enough to the main road to easily get to various tourist attractions. Highly recommend!

Unit is in a nice location way back on a point in Princeville. We like this area because it is quiet and the views. 2 bedroom 2 bath unit is a little out dated in the curtains and furnishings. Bed was comfortable. Plenty of towels. Beach chairs and cooler. This unit worked for us, it would be a squeeze if you had 4 or more people. Check in was a breeze. Communication with unit manager was good, question answered fast. Good place to rest and unwind!

It was so comfortable and relaxing for our mornings and for our post-adventure recovery time. And we all slept so well. The backyard was a perfect place to have a few moments of additional serenity. The kitchen suited our needs. The air mattress, coolers, and beach chairs were so helpful to have as well. Our kids loved the experience of staying in this peaceful condo just as much as the adults. The location, amenities, and environment were perfect for us.

There was a fan that was inoperable; however, it was replaced quickly. Nice, comfortable accommodations. Apartment, pool and grounds were spotless. Apartment was a bit outdated but more than met our needs. All in all we had a pleasant stay and would be happy to stay in this location , on a future visit to the island.

The property was as advertised. It was a lovely location, and very comfortable. The kitchen was well-stocked with spices and some condiments. I would recommend that the knives be sharpened. Beds were very comfortable. Unfortunately, there was no access to Netflix or other streaming services. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it.

Location of the property is great! Close to the ocean. Shopping and beaches are within reasonable distance. Love the serenity of the environment. Our family had a great time!

Best feature is the large glass patio doors that open to a large field with views of mountain and even partial views of ocean afar. My son enjoyed the nene family that would visit our door throughout the day.
The pool and jacuzzi are a good size and well maintained. I also appreciate the free filtered watered and ice available at poolside. The condo itself is a little dated in decor but still lovely. Also, in Kauai it is a must to have indoor washer/dryer.

The only thing I will say, is that if it is your first time to Kauai, Princeville itself is quite far from all the main attractions. It took us 45mins at least every day to drive out to where we needed to go.

This unit was the perfect size for our family of four. Everything was as listed and the unit was clean. I could not get over the views of my very favorite part of the island. This is the ideal location for a reservation to Haena State Park and relaxing days on Hanalei Bay.

This was our first time to Kauai and staying in Princeville at Ali'i Kai was the perfect place to stay. The condo was clean upon arrival and had everything we needed. The view was lovely and the beaches were close by. The condo had a cooler and beach chairs which were very helpful to have on hand.
We would definitely stay here again and are very thankful we found this property. The management company was very easy to work with and we look forward to booking with them again.

beds/pillows were very comfortable. The house had extra gear that was very helpful like cooler or beach chair and towels. If I have to ask for something, i would say it would be good to have a bbq grill and wrap foil paper.

We stayed at Ali'i Kai for 9 days. Our stay was relaxing. The view was amazing! The area was quiet (except for the morning wakeup calls from the roosters) and peaceful. There was a nene (ancestor of the Canadian goose) that came up to the porch every morning to say hello.
The condo was clean. The beds were comfortable. The mattress has a neutral firmness. Not too hard or soft. Great choice for a vacation rental. The second bed and bath can be closed off with the pocket door, creating a second master suite. My son enjoyed having his own area.
The kitchen had all the essentials. Plenty of utensils, dishes, pots and pans for even a lengthy stay.
The dishwasher and washer/dryer were welcome luxuries. The beach umbrella, chairs, towels, and coolers made beach days even better and more relaxing.

Our stay at Alii Kai condominium was were comfortable. The condo was equipped with everything we needed in the kitchen and living and bedroom were comfortable and clean. I especially loved the beautiful and lively bird songs at 5:30 every morning. I loved to sit on the back patio and listen to them.
The location was great to explore the north side of the island. We had to plan our travels around road closures, as the highway was closed from 7:45 to 2:30pm every day to repair damage from a mud slide.
We used the beach chairs, towels and umbrella provided at the condo.

The apartment managers were very helpful and helped us understand Hawaii covid management rules and told us how to prepare for the screening at the airport. They were also very responsive when I ask them ( Sarah) a question.
The parking lot is large and parking was very easy and safe.
I would definitely stay here again!

We had so much fun exploring the island! We saw whales, dolphins, waterfalls, canyons, luau, rum, coffee to just name a few. We experienced more rain than we thought and the winds were pretty strong but had plenty to do. Our condo was wonderful. Lots of room and views of the mountains, rainbows and chickens from our lanai. We came home with lots of great memories and pictures!

This is a new condo for us in the Ali’i Kai 11 complex. It is on the ground floor so easy to access but lost a bit in the view. However the view is lovely as are the grounds, pool, hot tub and easy parking. The inerior was spotless, nicely furnished except for needing new mattresses in both rooms. The kitchen was will stocked including matching dish ware, not always the case in rentals. Lots of nice beach towels and some beach equipment.. I would love to stay here again.

Incredible view for morning coffee chats and reading. Well stocked kitchen. Great central location in Princeville, easy access to a local grocery. Comfortable and clean, very well maintained. Note that is sleeps six with a blow-up mattress. It does not have 6 individual beds. That aside, our family of 5 will definitely go back. Perfect for family of 5 with all girls or all boys who don’t mind bunking together in the same room. Ali’i Kai, see you again soon!

Rented this condo for 4 adults and 2 kids (6-7 years old). Enough space for all of us. Air matress confortable for kids. Staff of Garden Island very helpful. Condo well equiped.

Location: Took us 25-30 by walk to the beach (Hideaway Beach, Queen's Bath) to Princeville shopping center and nearest bus stop.
Pool is clean and beautiful. BBQ well maintened.
As we are in nature, some insects in the kitchen (gecko and small cockroaches).
The kitchen would need a little refreshement.
We had a wonderful stay in Kauai !

Condo was exactly as described, came equipped with washer, dryer, towels, beach chairs, air mattress, and tons of goodies left from previous guests. I would definitely come back and stay here again mahalo for everything!! Property was well kept up, pool was close to condo, ocean and morning sunrise was in walking distance. Horticulture on the property and the island was breathtaking.

This was a great condo in a very nice part of Princeville. My wife and I absolutely loved the experience and had an awesome stay here.

Our rental was located in Princeville. If you're going to spend a lot of time on the north part of the island, this is perfect. If you're wanting to drive down to the south side of the island a lot of the time, this is a longer drive and kinda out of the way. It's pretty common to not have an air-conditioner here in Hawaii. The breeze is very cool and nice in the fall, winter, and spring months. However, in the summer it gets a little warm indoors. That is my only complaint. I think the ceiling fans need to be a little more powerful to move the air around. We had all the windows open/fans going...but the fans didn't help push around the air much. We were gone most of the day but it got pretty hot trying to get ready to go out for dinner. Overall, the stay here was great. The kitchen had everything we needed, the washer/dryer worked well, and the beds were comfortable. The view was also fantastic! We didn't spend much time hanging out at the rental but the view was amazing in the mornings and evenings. Also, if you have a child that needs a little entertainment for the mornings/nights, they have several kid movies, a dvd player, and a tv. It was a pretty quiet stay too. I didn't hear any loud noises or music from the neighbors. We do plan on coming back to Kauai and I would rent from them again! It met our needs and it was a reasonable price.

The unit works well for two couples because it basically has two master suites. The location is great. Remodel noise from the unit next store was annoying. No chance of an afternoon rest.

Our stay at the Aki'i Kai was better than I expected. The location is perfect for a quiet get-a-way. The condo suite is roomy and feels super comfortable. It isn't fancy but is very comfortable. The management was very helpful when we couldn't figure out how to work the dishwasher. I will come back to this condo again (hopefully next year!) Thank you for a wonderful time on the North Shore!

The area itself is very beautiful--the grounds are well-kept and nice; you can see the ocean and the mountains from the back yard and hear the waves crashing against the cliffs just below where the condo is located; there is a path nearby leading down to Queen's bath; close proximity to dining, quaint shops, the grocery store and, of course, the beach and hiking. Great location! We try to stay in Princeville when we come to Kauai.
The condo was fairly nice. It needs some upgrades for sure in the bathrooms and kitchen area (although it had newer appliances in the kitchen)--cabinets and flooring were old. The kitchen lacked a lot in terms of baking supplies and equipment (No flour, sugar, oil, plastic storage bags, alum foil, baking pans, pizza pan, etc... It does have salt, pepper, and some spices and some old, warped pots and pans). The placed smelled old and a little musty, but it was clean when we arrived. The beds were pretty comfy (my husband likes a firmer bed, so he didn't sleep as well because the softness hurt his back).
We did have a few encounters with large centipedes and killed a couple of them. One crawled over my son's face while he slept in the living room. Nothing you can really do about critters, but just keep a look out!
Overall, the place itself wasn't anything fancy, but the price was decent and the location was great. If you just plan on eating and sleeping here, it's good enough.

Very nice grounds, excellent common pool/spa/ (2) BBQ's area. Easy to find unit. It was a downstairs end unit, easy to get in & out, but could hear neighbor above us walk around, and roosters crow under your window waking you up early, anytime between 3 am-5am and all day. Bring earplugs, they really help! Unit itself nice, but bathrooms very small. Great water pressure on showers, and showered was tall enough for me (5'10" tall). Ceiling fan in the bedroom (closest to parking lot side) needs to be reinstalled with a heavy duty reinforcement. Sons said it was wobbling so bad when they tried using it it might fall down, plus they were all hung low throughout unit, obviously because ceilings are low in unit.
The window screens are gappy on edges, contributing to our mosquito bites. Many small and a couple of medium size roaches scurrying in kitchen. Quite a few live in dishwasher during our stay. Spotted two very cute gecko or anole lizards in kitchen and bedroom, which are probably eating some of the roach babies. Couple of large spiders got in through window too. Overall liked the unit, but please re-screen your windows. The sliding screen doors in living room also let in mosquitos, poor seal on outer sides. If I stayed at this property again, I would insist on a 2nd floor unit to get better views of ocean off to right. The view downstairs of mountains off to far left was good. All the tropical birds friendly. Thank you for a pleasant stay!
