Cliffs at Princeville #1208A Garden Unit, North Shore Resort

Had a very nice stay at the property. The unit definitely needs some upgrades but it was very clean and comfortable. The grounds are well maintained and the staff is very nice.

I almost don’t want to leave a review because I don’t want others to discover this property! This rental is the perfect size for a solo traveler like myself or a couple. Huge, comfortable bed, nice kitchen, full size bathroom, and comfortable outdoor balcony space. And the location cannot be beat! Amazing cliffside views on the property, 10 minutes from downtown Hanalei, and 20 minutes from the most sublime beaches you’ve ever seen. 10/10 stars!!!! I hope to visit again soon!

It’s a beautiful location with nice amenities. I really enjoy the spotless bbq grills and area. The pool and recreation area were great. I forgot my book and the library was helpful. Close to a lot of activities and Hanalei.

Great location, very comfortable, well-managed property. Staff very accommodating and conscientious. Condo clean and overall good repair, however patio screen door getting a bit wonky and off it’s track, and some cooking wear a bit too worn.

Lots of light & windows but with the garden view it feels very private. Super friendly staff checking in. No air but didn't need it as there was a nice cool breeze coming in from the big open kitchen windows. The bed was super comfy! I'd maybe ditch the little dining table, since there's a beautiful lanai table, and add a couple recliners or cozy chairs for sitting after a day of adventures. We'd totally stay here again!

We had a great week here. The room was as promised, clean, and ready. Lots to do in Hanalei Bay a short drive away. Bed was comfy. The only two suggestions for improvement would be a more soundproof and sturdy front door as you share a hallway and a larger TV.

This condo has everything needed for a comfortable stay and is located in a lush tropical jungle only steps from the ocean: Beautiful vistas on groomed lawns facing the ocean, tennis and pickle bar courts, and an enviable location. The only negative was the roosters crowing loudly from 3 am till 7 … hard to sleep in.

This condo is clean and has everything needed for a vacation in paradise. The setting is incredible - truly beautiful with tropical fruit growing and Nene birds walking around. The cocks do start crowing very early in the morning.

Mon seul regret : je n’avais pas remarqué qu’il n’y avait pas l’air climatisé dans le condo. Avec les coqs qui chantent à 4h30 am, ça aurait été pratique de pouvoir fermer portes et fenêtres le matin. Mais sinon, très bien! A 12minutes d’auto de la ville de Hanalei où se trouvent plusieurs délicieux restaurants.

We had an incredible stay at the Cliffs. The staff was incredibly nice and welcoming, we just felt right at home. We played pickleball every morning and tennis in the evenings. Then we enjoyed the beautiful pool and relaxed in the jacuzzi. Our room was set up nicely with a nice size kitchen that had everything we’d need to enjoy a night in if we wanted too. We had such a great view and loved listening to the birds and rain at night.

Nice resort in a beautiful place! Perfect for golf and hiking. Also very nice beaches close to the resort. View from the Muskoka chairs in the evening is stunning! The Weber BBQ are in a very good condition and very clean. The pool area is great! The apartment was very clean and we had all we needed. Terrace with garden view is perfect. Absolutely worth to stay here.

This was an island hop vacation for us for my birthday. We were very pleased. Easy check in and out of the rental. Easy communication by email and the hospitality app. The unit was clean upon arrival. I have stayed at the Cliffs at Princeville before so I knew the area well. One of the pool/spa was closed on our last night so we were unable to use the spa due to social distancing. I would definitely return to this unit in the future. Mahalo nui loa.

The mattress was wonderful and we would love a response from the owners with the mattress brand/model so we can purchase one here on Oahu!

It’s a sweet place. It looked a little tired, could use some love but we ended up really loving it. The bed was magnificent and we sat on the lanai, which overlooks a lush garden, for hours. It was quiet! The view from the tables and bbqs on the cliffs was so breathtaking we ended up eating out there most nights. The farmers market and food trucks were great and the location was awesome. They have nice Tommy Bahama beach chairs, a cooler and a beach umbrella which was great as we were at the local beaches daily. The pool was super nice and relaxing. The property overall is beautiful and their landscaping staff works tirelessly. The unit is partially updated but could use some sprucing up...it’s a bit tired looking. We would have loved some Tupperware and foil, spices, a few of the little extras that make it more convenient....but we figured it out. All in all it was a great time. (One of the chairs broke on the lanai and the closet doors kept going off the rollers...I reported it but no one came to fix it. I reminded them when we left).

The Cliffs at Princeville #1208A was a perfect location with grounds and amenities that were well cared for and perfect for what we needed on our stay in Kauai. Our Condo was clean and very nice. One thing we really enjoyed was viewing the wales from the Cliffs which was an added suprise bonus for staying there!

Great followup with instructions on how to get into my unit with codes etc. The condo was very clean and well appointed. It had a great view from the kitchen and balcony. Kitchen was well equiped. Everything worked except the screen door was missing a roller which was somewhat annoying. They also had two really nice Weber Genesis grills which I used to barbeque one night. Over all a very good experience.

This rental had everything we needed for our week-long stay. The kitchen was stocked with supplies for us to be able to cook our own meals and it was helpful to have a washer and dryer to use. The property was beautiful— we enjoyed ending our days by watching the sunsets on the north lawn and then relaxing in the pools and hot tubs. The location was close to beaches, a grocery store, and restaurants. If we were to return to the island, we would definitely stay here again.

We LOVED our stay here. Let's begin with the "jungle view." It really IS a jungle view, so every morning you greet the day with all sorts of birdsong. In other reviews of this property I saw people complain about the roosters... but we rarely heard roosters here. What we heard were exotic birds singing their hearts out. The view faces the rising sun, and this was an unexpected delight. I thought we were going to miss being in a beachfront room, but this was even more lovely than beachfront. Plus you do have a peek at the ocean out the kitchen windows and from the balcony.

The room is well-represented by the photographs: Keep in mind that it is a studio, look for overlapping items in the pics, and you can stitch together the layout. The room is larger than most hotel rooms, and smaller than most studios that I have been in. It is just the right size for a couple spending a week on the island.

The kitchen is functional - full size fridge and all the things you might need to cook and eat with. There are no spices or ingredients on the premises except for salt and pepper. You can buy anything you might need at the grocery store that is a five minute drive.

I read concerns about privacy, but this room was quite private: it is on the second floor, so no one is walking right by you, there are coverings for all windows, and not many folks walk along the grass strip between the building and the jungle in the first place. The room is moderately private in terms of sound. On the one hand, we never heard conversations from other rooms or TV shows, as you often do in hotels. But the room shares an entry hall with another unit, and has a ventilation gap under the front doors, so sound does travel that way.

The room is nicer than others we saw in the same complex. There is some normal wear, OK bed, and it isn't spotless, but it's better than our house ;-)

My husband and I stayed here for our 25th anniversary trip and we couldn't have picked a better location.

The room is equipped with absolutely everything you need for your stay. We were pleasantly surprised to even find beach chairs and a small cooler which helped us to enjoy our beach days even more.

The room looks out onto a beautiful tropical garden. This area of the resort is very quiet and tranquil with beautifully maintained grounds.

The resort had a small, but functional gym which included two treadmills, a recumbent bike, an eliptical, weights (5 lbs - 35 lbs) and an older, but well maintained universal.

Staff were all very helpful, kind, and accommodating. Our flight home did not leave until later in the evening, so we were allowed access to the pool for the remainder of the day once we checked out, which made us feel like we gained an extra day.

Garden Island Properties were very thorough in the information that we received prior to our arrival, so once we arrived we were ready to check in and start our vacation.

If you are planning on making most of your meals in the room, we learned a bit about where to purchase and not purchase groceries. We are from Canada so we expensively learned that if you shop at Safeway, you don't get the discount (we don't have Safeway cards in Canada). If you have a Cost-co card, that is a good place to go and the Foodland right in Princville is very reasonable and economical which we were pleasantly surprised to discover. They will ask for a phone number (it doesn't have to be local) and then you receive a discount there. There are also Farmer's Market every day of the week around the island where you can purchase fresh produce.

I would definitely recommend this unit and this resort.

We thoroughly enjoyed out stay here! The accommodations were what we expected. Nothing fancy, but for the price it met our needs perfectly! I was concerned about the fact that this unit does not have air conditioning. However, the temps were in the 70's and we found that it was very comfortable without it. The pool is fabulous and the view of the ocean from the resort is incredible!! This unit does not have an ocean view, but you don't need to go far to get the cliffs overlooking the ocean!!

Stayed Thursday to Thursday. First time in Hawaii. The unit was just as advertised. It was clean and furnished with all the necessities. Plenty of towels and a washer and dryer to make sure we had enough clean ones. It would have been nice to have room darkening curtains. It was light in the room as soon as the sun was up. (6:30am) The pool and hot tube were very nice. The bikes that are available to rent need some maintenance done to them. The location was great. After touring the island I wouldn't stay anywhere else but in Princeville. It is the prettiest part of the island. Plus the best snorkel beaches are on the north end.

We spent one night in unit 1208B and 4 nights in unit 1208A.

1208A is wonderful. A proper studio apartment with full kitchen including dishwasher, dining area, and a nice big lanai for eating outside with the tropical birds.

Nicely appointed with new furniture and a large king size bed with a mattress on the softer side, which I prefer.

Lots of storage. All the amenities you could ask for including cookware, wine glasses, a DVD player with a library of movies.

Unit 1208B is a single room - not a studio apartment. Although, there is a mini fridge and microwave in the closet, it is meant to be rented together with 1208A and should not be considered separately as a vacation rental. Nobody wants to wash their dishes in a tiny little bathroom sink, right? It is also adjacent to the parking lot, with more noise and less privacy.

The Cliffs property has a nice lava rock pool with two hot tubs and a separate kiddie pool. Tennis courts, BBQ grills, fitness center, a big game room, and beautiful grounds that are nicely groomed.

The staff, both at the Cliffs and at Garden Island Properties were wonderful to deal with. Warm, friendly, understanding, and very responsive. It is an absolutely first class team.

Princeville is a great location too. Close to beaches, restaurants, shops, and many attractions. You can't go wrong!
