We spent most of our time on the island exploring, so did not have an opportunity to enjoy many of the facilities or amenities, but the location cannot be beat! The views from the lanai were break taking and perfect for sunrise! The room was clean and well kept, the air conditioner in the bedroom was a nice touch that not all Hawaii homes have. There are also ample restaurants, beaches, and other activities within walking distance. I would highly recommend this spot to others, regardless of whether you plan to use it as a place to sleep and travel from or a place to stay and relax.

We enjoyed our week long stay at Kapaa Shores. The location is great, very walkable. We saw gorgeous sunrises from the oceanfront balcony. It was nice that there were beach towels, beach chairs and a small cooler for taking down to the beach. The condo was well stocked with everything we needed.

Property was great with exception of the hot tub that was under repair throughout our entire 11 day stay. The condo is within a Worldmark resort property. The communication could have been better as lengthy repairs I’m thinking would be scheduled with some level of predictability. Condo had everything we needed durning our stay. The sunrises are amazing and the atmosphere is chill. Can walk to anything you need from the condo which was nice. Definitely get out and see as much of the island as you can, it is very beautiful. There are several state parks that require advance reservations along with any tour or luau you maybe interested. Best to book these activities in advance of your stay(arrival to the island by at lease a couple of weeks) to help guarantee participation during your stay. Aloha!

Kapaa Shore Resort is in a very good location to see the whole island of Kauai. It is close to supermarkets, modest restaurants, and fast food chains. Very clean complex. Easy to visit the North of Kauai as well as the South. Do not expect high end restaurants in Kapaa. There aren't any. The Indian restaurant across the street offers very good food. Expect high prices for everything. The apartment is very clean, has whatever one needs as far as utensils are concerned, and beach towels and chairs. Comfortable bed. Beautiful view. There is a portable air condition in the living room, with no central air condition. This was not an issue in December when I was there, but I imagine it would be a problem in the bedroom during summer. I needed no assistance during my stay since I faced no problems in the condo. This was my second stay in the complex, I will do it again and I recommend it to all.

Rental was located directly on beach: beautiful view and breeze! The beach itself was pretty rugged, making for challenging walking. Unit was very clean and grounds were well maintained. Pool and hot tub also fine! Units are close to many stores, but getting across traffic can be challenging!

This unit is privately owned. Very clean and updated inside. Gorgeous Oceanfront view. Beach is not swimmable. However, on of our favorite beaches on the island is 10 miles down the street Kealia Beach. Condo has everything you need, even beach chairs, umbrella and a little soft cooler. The king size bed was hands down the more comfortable bed I have slept on outside of my own room. So soft. The water is perfect. No need for bottled water. Pool and hot tub were nice to relax in at night.

The location is perfect. Centrally located. The rooms were well decorated, supplied and very comfortable. We felt right at home. But the BEST part was the VIEW of the Sunrises, the Moonrises, the Mid day Sunshine!!! Mary and I spent HOURS every day sitting on our Balcony talking about our Past, Present, and Future...looking out at the most Spectacular view. Beautiful. On top of that was the Concierge. SONJA KEALA. She is AWESOME. She arranged our Dinner reservations, our Luaus, our Day trips, Shopping information, Travel time expectations!!! SONJA KEALA is so good at her job. Very Professional. We can't thank her enough. Garden island Properties is the Best. Period. We'll be back.

We loved it! The photo from balcony is pretty accurate. Great view of ocean and sunrise. Kitchen is pretty and well stocked. We lacked for nothing.Perfect size for two. Sand chairs and coolers were useful for nearby beaches. There is no sand beach on property. No A/C but didn't need it. Open front and back doors for tremendous cooling cross breeze and provided fans also help.A shame you can't smoke outside on balcony. The designated area is small and a little walk from apt. but puts you under the stars and at ocean's edge, so not the worst. Make sure you have quarters for laundry. No detergent on site but ABC store sells single use. Xlnt location. Close to food shopping. Great restaurants close by. Check out Sammy's and Cafe Hemingway, plus taproom across street. Bike rental and start of shoreline path are next door to condo, so walking distance. Great time here!

View was very nice - we watched the sunrise almost every morning! Bed was extremely comfortable. Condo was decorated nicely and we had everything we needed. Close to the health food store, fish market, grocery stores and excellent restaurants. Located in the middle of the island so less drive time to destinations on the north and shore shore.

Comfortable one bedroom one bath second floor unit with beautiful unobstructed views of the ocean and perfect sunrises. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Fully equipped kitchen. Sleeper sofa. Unit is good for two people any more would be a squeeze.

Our second stay at Kapaa Shore was wonderful. The condo was well furnished and equipped and the bed very comfy. Unit 207 is in the perfect location in the complex and for convenience to all Kapaa and other island locations. We will return there no questions. One must remember that very little assistance is granted the renters who go through VRBO from the office, but that was OK.

The view from the lanai was breathtaking. Listening to the ocean in the mornings and evenings was something I will miss most. We were very busy during our stay and the resort was the perfect place to unwind. Our little beach outside was lovely as well. Would definitely recommend and come back. Mahalo!

We keep coming back for an oceanfront condo at a reasonable price. Location is convenient for trips to the north and south shores. Excellent views of sunrises. Pool and hot tub great for relaxing after snorkeling or hiking. Staff friendly.

Unit is in great shape. Only complaint is that the oven takes a long time to heat up. Not a fan of the foam topper on the bed but was okay.

Kapaa Shore is a nice place to stay on Kauai. Good location in terms of touring the island. We stayed for four nights and had a great time. The condo itself was clean, well stocked and had a great view of the ocean from the lanai. Good size for two people. We knew ahead of time this condo did not have A/C, so it was not as comfortable sleeping for us as we are used to, although with the breeze, it was not too bad. Without A/C you have your windows opened, so random noise does affect your sleep - people talking, road noise, roosters crowing. Grounds were well kept and nice park like setting along ocean. No swimming beach here, just rocks, but great to look at. Parking for our unit was somewhat far away, so carrying luggage/groceries/beach gear was sometimes a chore. Also, beach chairs were stored underneath the bed, which we found on our last morning as we were checking to see if anything fell on the floor in the bedroom. There should have been a notice about this storage. Overall a good stay on a beautiful island.

sorry to say no beach area to speak of
since the building was constructed of wood it wasn't sound proof very well
our 2nd floor unit you could hear the people upstairs walking around and they had kids running around so at times it was very loud

A great visit. We've stayed at Kapaa Shores maybe 5 times over 15 years - we come back because we love sitting on the balcony in the morning, watching the sunrise over the ocean, listenning to the waves breaking. Nice pool and hot tub, nice central location (north or south) on the island.

Overall, this is a great place to stay. We loved being near Kapaa with easy access to other parts of the island. The owners provided lots of great amenities, chairs, fans, coolers, etc. It would have been nice to have more of a booklet about the place and what was tucked in where. IT was a bit of a hide and seek game to find some things. The front desk wasn't much help since this is a private rental. The home was relaxing, inviting and had exactly the view we hoped for. We found the walking path late in our trip. We loved Java Kai, Papaya organic foods, and the variety of local shops.

Kauai is one of the most beautiful islands in the world! The view from my lanai was terrific!The sound of the waves against the shore will be with me forever. Thank you so much, Kapaa Shore, for I shall return again and again.

Besides the recent outbreak, as one of the first couples back to this resort, this was our first time this close to the ocean, and boy are we glad we did that because of the wonderful ocean sounds and cooling trade winds (don't bring computers as the salt air will quickly destroy them) The unit was in great shape with only a few weather related issues. Love to see the deck as a non-slip outdoor tile instead of that Gaco-flex product. It did take a while to find the deck light switch hidden behind a curio cabinet. But all in all it was a wonderful unit.

Beautiful location and very nice condo. The host has provided everything you could possibly want/need for a Kauai vacation. Kitchen has "everything " you could possibly need to prepare meals. Coolers and grocery bags in the hall closet. Books to read while catching some rays. Beach towels and chairs. A tv in the living and bedroom. Will be returning to to this beautiful place.

My wife and I had another brilliant two weeks in Kapaa. We have been going to the Big Island for many years and decided to give Kauai a go in 2014 and fell in love with the island, the people and the laid back pace of life! We will continue to come back to Kauai and plan to stay at Kapaa Shores and hopefully in unit #207, as the complex and unit are in the perfect location with all the amenities for meeting our needs and expectations. I would recommend this property with a reservation/warning.
The bed is horrible! It was so uncomfortable one of us actually tried to sleep on the sofa hide a bed which was even worse. I think the problem with the bed was the the mattress and box spring were very low quality. If one of us turned over during the night the other person would be bounced around and wake up. It was so bad we even started counting the nights we had left to try and sleep in that bed. We would rent any other unit available befor #207 because of the bed.

The Condo was absolutely beautiful, and so perfect for a 2 week vacation. Staying in an ocean front condo was wonderful, and the kitchen was totally stocked with every convenience! I would definitely go back, and I recommend it highly!
