The primary bedroom suite has a king size bed and the 2nd bedroom is furnished with a queen bed.
Queen sofa sleeper in the living room. Pack n Play Crib available upon request. Unit sleeps up to 6 guests.
Fully equipped kitchen with all new appliances. Cable TV in the living room. Complimentary High Speed Wifi & Parking. Beachfront on the east shore of Kauai, Pono Kai Resort is a centrally located Kauai vacation rental with easy access to the North or South shores of Kauai. Approximately 8 miles from the Lihue Airport, Pono Kai Resort is located in the town of historic Kapa'a. Situated on 13 tropical acres.
This Kauai oceanfront condo is within easy walking distance to shops, restaurants, boutiques and banks. Swim right on the beach front of Pono Kai Resort or lounge pool side and enjoy the outdoor spa and sauna. Barbecue stations are located throughout the property along w/laundry facilities in each building.
Rent a bicycle and "cruise" along the coastal bike path. Ping pong, shuffleboard and even a croquet court are available at Pono Kai Resort making this an ideal Kauai vacation rental for you and your family.
The Pono Kai Resorts east side location makes it easy to get to Kilauea Lighthouse, Hanalei Bay and Haena State Beach Park to the north or Poipu Beach to the south. Nearby attractions in Kapaa include Kealia Beach, Lydgate State Beach Park for snorkeling, Kamalani Playground with a "volcano tube", Sleeping Giant Hiking Trail, Wailua Falls, Opaeka'a Falls and the Fern Grotto boat ride are just a sample of what's available on Kauai's eastern shores.
Beachfront at an affordable price makes this Kauai condo a fantastic value. Humpback whales breaching can be seen from your private lanai during the months of November through April or walk along the shores early morning and you may be the first to discover a glass ball and other beach treasures.

We loved the location and definitely recommend this unit! Sitting on the patio in the morning is the perfect place to be. The property is spacious and inviting. Several restaurants/shops are within walking distance and the path out back is a nice stroll, morning or evening. Great communication, plus easy and personable checkout.

Excellent all around. The B101 is ideally suited for both beach and access to Kapa'a town. The unit is well made, very well laid out, comfortable, and convenient to the parking area. WiFi access was easy. It had all the amenities one would expect, was very clean and well cared for. Hard to beat combination. Garden Island properties bent over backwards to make sure everything we needed was available to us. I would recommend this unit for vacation anytime!

Loved location and unit Condo was well -equipped with all we needed both in the kitchen and for the beach.. Great location right at water and bike path. Kapaa town was a short walk away.One drawback from ground floor unit. Noise from people walking upstairs was fairly noticeable, but did stop by about 9 p.m. so didn’t disturb sleep. I would definitely stay there again.

My husband and I stayed at this property for our honeymoon and it was amazing! the location was perfect and the property itself was clean, equipped and made it feel like home. B-101 offered everything a beach lover visiting Kauai would want. Beautifully updated and well-appointed kitchen, all the beach supplies like chairs, coolers, umbrellas, and a comfortable lanai to enjoy the sunrises. It was a very easy and scenic walk to Kapaa where there was a great variety of shopping and restaurants. East Shore was a great place from which to enjoy the whole island. Would highly recommend.

My husband and I and another couple stayed for a week and the condo was perfect! The owner was very friendly, supplied everything we possibly needed in the kitchen, bathrooms & for the beach. The view was beautiful and the condo itself was nicely updated, decorated, spacious and comfortable. The location was perfect for the view, having a trail to walk and to walk into town to restaurants and shopping. I would definitely recommend it and stay there again!

We have stayed in a number of condos for vacation and this was by far the most perfectly equipped and clean. It didn't just come with a gorgeous view, it also had everything our family needed for our stay.
The management company was fantastic and communicated quickly and kindly. We loved being able to walk into the town of Kapa'a and the residents were very welcoming. Sam's Ocean View, Kountry Kitchen, and Mariachi's were all delicious and had a friendly staff.
The location of the condo was perfect for day trips around the island since it's a middle point.
The only downside was that you could hear the upstairs tenants walking around.

What a perfect setting for a vacation on Kauai. The condo is perfectly set up for enjoying your vacation and has all the amenities you could ask for: beach towels, beach chairs, umbrellas, coolers, snorkel equipment, boogie boards. The Condo is right on a wonderful walking/biking path -- worth renting a bike to see the sites. The Pono Kai Resort has lots of activities on the property for the family as well. This vacation rental exceeded our expectations.
The only negative comments I have is that you can hear lots of noise from the condo above this one....sometimes it was a bit difficult to sleep because of lots of very loud foot traffic from the second floor condo.

Perfect location- close to shops and restaurants, short drive to grocery store. In between north and south shore so easy drive each way. Property itself was perfect for a family of four. Gorgeous sunrise every morning, long bike trail was perfect for long walks while watching the whales. When we come back our family agreed we will stay here again.

The unit is clean, roomy, decorated beautifully and fully stocked with all you need for a comfortable stay and adventuring on the island. Being on the ground floor with a straight look out to the ocean is heaven. There is noise from the above unit as others have mentioned but did not in anyway give a negative feel. We spent most of our time out on the patio anyway! The condo complex is lovely and offers lots of choices. The trail along the ocean is great for walks and an easy safe way to get into town. It was great being able to walk into town. We would for SURE stay here again if the future allows!

The apartment is very nice, but has one serious flaw. Being a downstairs unit it is extremely noisy as the ceiling has no insulation...you can hear every foot step above you...and their conversations. The noise really detracted from how nice the unit is...a real shame as it is a nice place.

This place was clean and perfect for our group. We were two couples traveling together and truly enjoyed being right on the beach. Sitting out on the lanai watching the sunrise was amazing. You're super close to the shops in Kapa'a so definitely take advantage of that. We didn't utilize any of the amenities on the property because when you're right on the beach, why hang out at the pool. One downside was not having a washer and dryer in the unit but the machines were right down the hall from us. The one complaint we all had was the noise from upstairs. I don't know if the people were purposely stomping around at all hours or if the ceiling/floor above us was just super thin but it was obnoxious. Lucky for us, we were out and about while in Kauai and by the time we got back, we were all so exhausted that we just fell asleep. If you're staying in the unit and not going out much, I could see this being a major issue. Also, the gal checking us in at the front desk was not very pleasant but fortunately, we only had to deal with her on the check in. Garden Island properties who manage this unit, were very responsive and easy to work with. Would definitely return here.

The location of this condo is great for sunrise viewing and relaxing. The area directly in front of the condo is not a beach for swimming but there are beaches short walks in either direction. The condo has been remodeled and is very nice and comfortable. This place is FANTASTIC!! We felt right at home as soon as we walked in. Everything is fully stocked with essentials as well as extras, beach chairs, ice chests, games, books, too many to count! The beach decor is adorable, beds are super comfy and the views are incredible! The ocean front walking path goes on for what seems like forever, you dont even realize you are exercising on vacation. Infact you can walk to just about everything you need, coffee, shopping, restaurants. If this unit was for sale I would jump on the chance to buy it, that's how much we loved it. This condo is in a great location! From access to the beach, the Kauai bike path that runs right in front, the number of little shops and restaurants in walking distance all made our Kauai trip perfect! The condo has a bunch of yard games which was a great addition. The condo itself was great too! Everything we needed was already there (besides food) and our children had an absolute blast on their first Kauai trip. Can’t wait until we can come back!!

We really enjoyed are stay at Pono Kai. B-101 is very spacious and the re-model is nice. The pounding feet and an alarm going off at 4:30am from the unit above us was not pleasant. There seems to be no insulation between the upper and lower units. Nonetheless, we love the ground floor unit as you can walk right out to the ocean.
This condo if very well stocked with beach gear which is so convenient. We used the beach chairs, boogie boards, cooler, and beach towels. We have stayed at other condos and homes over the years and this one definitely has the best beach gear.
The refrigerator seems to be on its last leg, and the safe did not work. Also, the unit has a very musty smell. These items are not deal breakers for us and we would definitely stay here again.

Unit was in a good location however, the paper thin ceilings meant the people above us were walking on our heads all day and night long! When addressed with Pona Kai front desk staff, they were not very helpful. Additionally, the bathroom ceiling was actively leaking from the top unit. We had to call for repair during our vacation. Upstairs balcony was also sagging down towards our unit. When we return to the island, we will choose an alternative place to stay as it wasn't worth the money.

This property was a great rental experience. Upon opening the door we were very pleased with the ocean view you see from the living room. The unit was clean, the kitchen was well stocked with more than enough kitchenware. They also have everything you need to hang out at the beach (beach chairs, boogie boards, towels, umbrellas, mats) or the properties pool. The beds were very comfortable and bath towels were soft. Even the problem we had with the electronic lock turned out to be no big deal thanks to the great customer service from Garden Island Properties. Next time I travel to Kauai I will definitely book with Garden Island Properties! Mahalo!

The condo was well stocked with everything you would need while on vacation. There were coolers, floats, beach chairs and towels, snorkeling equipment, books, puzzles, games and more. The kitchen was well stocked too-spices, pots and pans, storage containers, utensils, etc. The master bedroom was perfect but the biggest negative to the stay was the 2nd bedroom mattress was uncomfortable. With that being said, the owners take pride in their place and it shows! A mattress topper in the 2nd bedroom would be a great addition to the property.

We stayed in the unit for a week (husband and 2 daughters, ages 3 and 6) and really enjoyed our stay! Being oceanfront is amazing and we loved hearing the waves from our room each night. The unit has been very nicely updated. The furniture was nice, beds/towels/linens were good quality, and we found tons of helpful beach items in the closets. The kitchen had a nice variety of spices, oil, etc. and was very well-equipped, though we didn’t do much cooking! Only downside is that the Pono Kai pool is a bit small and cold, but the surrounding grills/tables were great for meals.

We loved our stay here! It was a lot bigger than what we thought with the bonus of an en-suite bathroom. It was very clean and supplied with all of the amenities we love to use as well as everything we needed to have our beach days! We had the most amazing stay and donated a couple of towels we could not fit back in our luggage -
We found your condo equipped with more than we could possibly image.
Each morning before my family got up . I would sit out on the lanai and watch the sunrise with many of the other guest at Pono Kai. It is one of my favorite memories - it was like we were having a little sunrise party everyone was so friendly. We shared favorite restaurants and favorite local spots that we were going to for that day.
Thank you for having the beach chairs, the large beach towels, the extra sunscreen, the bug spray which came in handy, the matt for the beach, the snorkel gear, the boogie boards, and the noodles, the large enough ice chest, the beach umbrella and not to forget the big tote bags that we could carry the towels more items to the beach with.
We came equipped with our own shampoo and conditioners but we loved using what you supplied in both showers and tub. I left some syrup for French toast up in the cupboard I hope that was OK. Only thing I needed was a griddle when I made the French toast. The air conditioners worked perfect -there were nights that we did not even need to use them and were able to hear the ocean with the windows open with the dowels. These things that did not bother our stay however you might want to take care of them. The first that I mentioned was the screen comes off the track very easily. My husband is handy so he was able to put it right back on.

The condo is larger than the photos show. The lanai is tucked back, so you have a lot more privacy than the other (Website hidden by Airbnb) one can accidentally be in your space (lanai). The condo has all you would need for outside adventures and is fully stocked with everything you would need inside. Great open floor plan! Perfect place and location for visiting Kauai for the first time and is a block away from restaurants and shops. Beach in front of condo is rocky, but there are great beaches a walk away! We had a wonderful stay!

This unit exceeded our expectations. It was very clean, came with so many extras such as beach chairs, towels, coolers, umbrellas, snorkel gear and all the kitchen necessities. Tons of closet space. Loved having my morning coffee on the ocean front lanai watching the sun come up. The resort grounds are well kept, very friendly staff and guests. Walking distance to grocery stores, downtown Kapaa with great shopping, restaurants, bike rentals, etc. It was convenient to travel to the North or South side of the island from the resort. We didn't have any issues with noise and even the chickens didn't bother us! Great stay in a beautiful unit, and I would highly recommend it.

The unit was very nice. We've stayed in 6-7 rental properties in Hawaii over the years, and this one had the most equipment-type amenities I've seen - multiple nice beach chairs, a couple of coolers, ice packs in the freezer, boogie boards, etc. The only limitation in reviewing is that we didn't actually spend that much time in the unit. But for comfort, it was fine (beds good; living room furniture so-so), and, at least in the master bedroom, we opted for listening to the ocean at night, over using the air conditioning. The resort complex was central to Kapaa town, which was fun to stroll around and which was convenient to north and south shores, although traffic to the south was awful at times. We had one cockroach, but that can happen in Hawaii - and the unit seemed very clean in spite of that encounter.

The unit we stayed in was exceptional, to of the line in furniture and it was completely stocked. We only needed to find the Costco and we were off and running. My wife is from the islands so we spent much of our week visiting relatives and looking for the hotel where we spent our honeymoon. Relaxing!

Property had everything. We knew about the beach towels and chairs but wish we knew about the coolers, snorkel gear, beach blankets and swim noodles because we packed all those items and brought them with us and we could have freed up our luggage. The remodel is very nicely done. Location was great, you can walk to town for shopping and eating. Kitchen had everything we needed but we would have liked a toaster. The air conditioning is a great plus when it’s hot and humid which is most of the time. Ono shaved ice next to the property was excellent. Management company kept us up to date on hurricane lane. The view of the ocean from the master bedroom bed was incredible. The only down side of the property was hearing the people above us walking around. Helicopter tour is a must in Kauai, also did a Napali dinner cruise. Favorite restaurants are JJ’s Broiler and Keoki’s Paradise in Poipu. 2 bedrooms, 2 bath, ocean front, air conditioning, ground level, 6 miles from the airport. I don’t know what more you would need.

Very well upgraded and maintained property. Everything was very easy. Kappa has the best shops and restaurants of all places. Unfortunately, the hurricane the week before brought garbage onto the beach and therefore we stayed away. It forced us to rethink how much plastic that we are using and made us recycle as much as possible.

This place was exactly as pictured -- and more. Beautiful ocean view and wonderfully appointed. There is a wonderful path for biking and walking right outside the door. The condo has everything you need. We even cooked dinner several nights for us and 4 friends who were staying in another condo. There is no A/C -- which was new for us -- but it worked out fine with the trade winds that blow all the time. Would definitely stay again.

We had a great time in Kauai! The location of Pono Kai was perfect, right in the middle of the horse shoe. We had quick access to both sides of the island! Comfortable and well keptt, right on the beach!! Loved it. We were fortunate that most of our stay there was no one staying in the condo above us. However, there was heavy walking and jumping out last night. That was the only down fall. Other than that, I would recommend to friends and family.
Excellent accomodations, was simple and easy from check in to checkout. Wonderful, clean and updated unit steps from the ocean. Overall had a wonderful time and was pleased with the pono kai.
